Bible in Manga Form
I never really read The Bible much until my early 20s. I clearly remember one day reading through all the gospels at once for the first time and thinking, Wow, this is a great story. Then I read through Acts and thought the same thing.
That was a couple of decades ago and I can't remember if it was the King James version I read or the NIV. Today, there are multiple translations, like The Message, The New Living, etc. They all make The Bible easier to read than ever. I recently came across The Bible in manga form. I know nothing of manga and don't read other manga books but Siku's Manga Bible is really cool. In this article in The NYTimes, Siku's manga book on Christ will be "something like Clint Eastwood in the Galilee." I'm not saying it should be your primary Bible, as I wouldn't recommend some translations to be your primary Bible. But, Siku has provided an up-to-date modern slant on the art that most of us can only picture in our head as we read -- or maybe think of the Charlton Heston version of Moses!
